When you have a long day, you always LOVE a friend who brings you a treat!
My dear friend Kristin brought these Great-American-Bakery-Hunt-worthy cupcakes for us.
Needless to say, I didn't even have time to squeeze in a picture of the cupcakes.
The wrappers were the only evidence that they ever existed!

My dear friend Whitney has recently joined SEAGURLS, a team of 5 wonderful women who will swim 25K across the Long Island Sound as a part of  St. Vincent's Swim Across the Sound benefitting the St. Vincent's Medical Center Foundation. The SEAGURLS will swim in honor of of a teammates father - and for everyone in our lives who has been touched by the disease.

Please consider supporting Whitney and the SEAGURLS. She is an incredible individual who shares lots of love - and fun - with all of her friends.

Since 1987, the SWIM has a unique niche, providing cancer education, screening, and prevention programs at low- or no-cost for the underinsured and uninsured. In addition, the SWIM helps individual cancer patients on a case-by-case basis with specific needs, such as the funding of wigs and prostheses, medication assistance, free transportation to treatments and appointments, day-care scholarships and support groups.

Bone Marrow Drive - Congrats, Kaiser Maui!

Hawaii has about 70,000 registered marrow donors.
Every year, 20-25 matches are discovered amongst those 70,000 donors.
If you do the math, it comes to:
State of Hawaii: 1 match/2,800 recruits.

Kaiser Hawaii has recruited a total of about 2200 donors.
Kaiser Maui has recruited roughly 1700 donors.
Of the Maui recruits, they have already matched 4. Math?
Kaiser Hawaii: 1 match/550 recruits
Kaiser Maui: 1 match/425 recruits

Unbelievable. Did we target recruit? Definitely. Did we take all comers? Absolutely.
Were we successful? Just ask those 4!
Congratulations! This is why we do it.
Please know that we will continue our quest in recruiting the
Minorities and Multiethnic donors for good cause.
